Ex Voto
Parisian minimalism in fragrance.
Ex Voto was founded in Paris by Nathalie Paillarse, who took the name from the tradition of votive offerings — objects given in gratitude or devotion — as a framing for fragrance as a deeply personal act of dedication. The house sources from Grasse and works within classic French perfumery structure while maintaining a contemporary minimal aesthetic in its visual presentation. Compositions tend toward the clean, contemplative register: restrained florals, serene woods, and quiet musks that evoke spiritual calm rather than exuberance. Paillarse's approach emphasises Grasse ingredient quality and the craft of measured, harmonious composition over novelty or shock. Ex Voto occupies a specific position in Parisian niche: feminine without sentimentality, spiritual without pretence, minimal without emptiness.
