Folie à Plusieurs
Fragrance as publication, culture as brief.
Folie à Plusieurs translates the psychiatric term for shared delusion into a fragrance philosophy: that scent can function as a carrier for collective cultural imagination, destabilising ordinary perception through aesthetic means. Founded in 2013 and based between Berlin and Paris, the house operates as a curatorial project commissioning international contemporary artists to provide creative briefs for exclusive fragrance collaborations. Each release is a conversation between visual art, conceptual writing, and olfactory composition. Collaborating perfumers include Mark Buxton, Antoine Lie, David Chieze, and Jérôme Di Marino — established niche industry figures whose willingness to participate signals the house's artistic credibility. The result is a catalogue of objects that treat fragrance as literary and artistic medium rather than personal care product. Distribution is deliberately limited to select niche boutiques and direct channels consistent with the brand's avant-garde positioning. The name itself functions as mission statement: Folie à Plusieurs invites its audience into a shared sensory fiction, using fragrance to blur the line between scent experience and cultural event. Within the German niche fragrance scene, the house occupies an intellectually ambitious position.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
