For Strange Women
Natural perfumery from Kansas City.
For Strange Women was founded by Jill McKeever in Kansas City in 2009 as a natural and botanical perfumery committed to materials in their most direct and unmodified form. McKeever practices wild harvesting, traditional maceration, and steam distillation rather than relying on prefabricated aroma chemicals or synthetic fixatives. The resulting fragrances carry the genuine complexity and variation of naturally derived materials — each batch subtly different from the last. Core releases include Cabin, Cedar and Suede, and Foxfire, compositions that evoke American landscapes — pine forests, autumn fields, smoke, and damp earth — without resorting to obvious photorealism. For Strange Women distributes through direct channels, curated natural beauty retailers, and a devoted direct-to-consumer base that appreciates the seasonal variation inherent in natural perfumery. McKeever's approach is deeply principled and has earned the house sustained critical respect.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
