For the Scent of It
A perfume should be regarded for the scent itself.
For the Scent of It is an independent American fragrance house founded in 2021 by self-taught perfumer Michael Schrammel, working from Eagle, Wisconsin. After discovering a passion for fragrance around 2011 and spending five years training his nose through research and hands-on study, Schrammel launched the brand to prove that compelling, well-crafted niche perfumery need not come packaged in extravagant bottles or carry a luxury price premium. The name itself — offered in response to a coworker's question about why he wears fragrance — distils the house philosophy: the scent is the point, full stop. Working with premium raw materials and contemporary techniques, Schrammel creates bold, concept-driven compositions including the smoky Tobacco Pod, the fruity-dark Forbidden Fig, and the maritime Black Sails. Fragrances are available in 50 ml and 10 ml sizes, making exploration accessible without sacrificing quality.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
