Genyum
Fragrance rooted in artistic practice.
Genyum is a Spanish niche fragrance house founded in 2018 by Anna Torrents, an artist and designer whose background in the visual arts shapes the house's approach to composition and presentation. Each fragrance in the Genyum collection corresponds to a specific artistic or philosophical concept, and the bottle and visual identity are as deliberately constructed as the juice inside. Rather than following fragrance market trends, Torrents works from a visual and conceptual starting point — a particular painting technique, a philosophy of color, a geometric proposition — and translates that into olfactory language, often in collaboration with perfumers who share her interest in fragrance as art practice. The house is located in Barcelona, a city whose design culture supports exactly this kind of creative cross-disciplinarity, and Genyum has positioned itself within that creative community rather than within the mainstream perfumery trade. For collectors who approach fragrance through the lens of contemporary art and design, Genyum offers one of the more coherent and intellectually honest arguments that the two fields can genuinely speak to each other.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
