Georges Rech
So chic, so French, so Rech.
Georges Rech opened his first Parisian studio in 1960, working in the early French ready-to-wear movement that aimed to bring couture sensibility into accessible women's tailoring. The label became known for clean, structured pieces and for the diffusion line Synonyme, introduced in the 1960s as a more relaxed companion collection. The perfume arm operates on licence and sits in the accessible department-store tier rather than at the prestige or niche end. Releases such as Alexandrie mon Amour, French Story, Oriental Dream, and the Muse line lean on the brand's Parisian heritage and tend toward soft floral and oriental compositions. Georges Rech himself, born in Paris in 1929, is no longer involved; the house has passed through several owners since the original designer's retirement and now operates primarily as a fashion label with a modest fragrance presence in francophone markets.
