Ghawali
Modern oriental perfumery from the Gulf.
Ghawali is a fragrance brand launched in 2016 by the Chalhoub Group, the Dubai-based luxury distribution company that has shaped Gulf retail since the 1950s. It opened first at Dubai Festival City and expanded quickly across the Gulf, positioning itself between Western niche perfumery and traditional Arabic oriental scent culture. The range covers eaux de parfum, oud-based mukhallats, body and hair mists, and home fragrances, often built around oud, rose, saffron, amber, and musk in a contemporary register. Stores are designed as immersive fragrance environments rather than conventional counters, with consultations and personalisation as part of the experience. Ghawali made its European debut at Selfridges in 2024, signalling a wider international ambition. As a Chalhoub-owned house, it remains tightly tied to the modern Gulf luxury landscape.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
