Glossier
The beauty community, brought to life.
Glossier is an American beauty brand founded in 2014 by Emily Weiss, growing directly out of her influential beauty blog Into the Gloss. The brand pioneered community-driven product development, crowdsourcing consumer feedback before launching each item — a model that built enormous loyalty among millennial and Gen Z consumers. Glossier's fragrance debut, You, created by perfumers Dora Baghriche and Frank Voelkl, became one of the defining prestige fragrances of the late 2010s: a musky, skin-forward scent explicitly designed to smell like the wearer rather than a garden or abstract concept. The fragrance distills Glossier's philosophy — skincare first, enhancement over transformation — into olfactory form. Additional releases have maintained a similar skin-close intimacy, quietly sensual and modern. The brand's accessible price point relative to comparably crafted niche fragrances, combined with its cultural cachet, makes Glossier an unusual crossover success in both the beauty and fragrance conversations.
