Guy Bouchara
A Grasse perfumer's own quiet studio line.
Guy Bouchara is a French perfumer born in Nice and based in Grasse, who launched his own small line in the early 1980s with two compositions — Théosiris for women and La Selva for men — both of which gained a quiet following in their decade. He trained and built his career inside the Grasse industry, working as a contract creator for clients across the world before stepping back from larger-scale production to focus on bespoke commissions and a deliberately limited output. The house is closer to a perfumer's studio than a brand in the contemporary sense: small batches, vintage-feeling bottles, and a catalogue that has remained intentionally modest. The work sits in the classical French tradition — chypres, leathers, ambers, restrained florals — with the kind of construction associated with a pre-1990s Grasse sensibility. It suits collectors interested in the long tail of independent French perfumery rather than current launches.
