Harvey Prince
Clean, naturally-derived fragrance from New York.
Harvey Prince was founded in 2008 by two brothers in New York as a personal gesture: the first fragrance, Ageless Fantasy, was created as a gift for their mother. The brand name compounds the names of their respective universities — Harvard and Princeton — while the design philosophy from the outset centred on hypoallergenic, naturally derived ingredients at a price accessible to a broad consumer market rather than the department store luxury tier. Ageless Fantasy, built on mango, pineapple, jasmine, cherry blossom, and musk, established the house's tropical-fresh register. The brand rebranded as Harvey Prince Organics in 2015, formalising its commitment to plant-derived formulations and eco-conscious packaging, and has since expanded into skincare alongside fragrance. The brand operates at the mid-market accessible level — substantially below prestige but above drugstore — and distributes primarily through direct-to-consumer and health-focused retailers rather than traditional department stores. Its significance is partly historical: Harvey Prince was an early commercial adopter of clean-beauty positioning in fragrance, arriving several years before that language became mainstream industry vocabulary.
