Heeley
Independent Parisian niche by a British designer-perfumer.
Heeley Parfums is a Paris-based niche house founded by James Heeley, a British designer born in Yorkshire who studied philosophy and aesthetics before moving into perfumery and applied design. The brand operates as one of the small number of European houses where the founder is also the sole nose, with Heeley composing every fragrance himself. The line takes its tone from Heeley's broader design work: pared-back bottles, restrained labels, and compositions that prefer clarity to volume. Releases such as Esprit du Tigre, Cardinal, Sel Marin, and Hippie Rose have built a steady reputation for quiet, considered perfumery that holds its line against the louder end of contemporary niche. Production stays in France, distribution remains relatively narrow, and the catalogue grows slowly. Heeley sits in the same independent-author category as Frédéric Malle's editions or Liquides Imaginaires, but with a singular personal voice.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
