Il Profvmo
Nature's finest ingredients, transformed into wearable art.
Il Profvmo is the Reggio Emilia-based artisan house of perfumer Silvana Casoli, founded in 1997 after a parallel career as an herbalist trained at the University of Urbino and a decade of work in aromatherapy. The brand's archaic spelling — borrowed from Roman epigraphy — signals its central interest: perfume as memory and material rather than as fashion. The catalog is built around a small set of long-running unisex extraits, beginning with the iconic Chocolat (1998) and extending through warm gourmand, floral and woody compositions, all hand-blended in small batches in Casoli's Emilian laboratory. Casoli has additionally built a private practice creating bespoke fragrances for individual clients, and has been credited with one-off scents for figures including Madonna, King Juan Carlos and Pope Benedict XVI. Distribution remains tightly curated, with the house's own boutique in Reggio Emilia complemented by select niche perfumeries across Europe and Asia.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
