Indult
Ultra-concentrated niche from Francis Kurkdjian's early work.
Indult is a French ultra-niche fragrance house founded in 2006, closely associated with perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, who created the house's founding fragrance before going on to establish his eponymous label in 2009. Indult's breakout release, Tihota, became one of the most celebrated vanilla fragrances in niche perfumery — a study in supreme ingredient quality, built on Tahitian vanilla absolute at exceptional concentration, producing a warm, creamy, almost addictive composition of extraordinary simplicity and depth. The house produces a very small portfolio of fragrances, each at ultra-concentrated levels that justify the significant price points. Indult's identity is bound up with its Kurkdjian association and the cult status of Tihota, which has influenced vanilla-centric niche perfumery significantly in the years since its release. The brand remains in distribution through ultra-niche specialist retailers, with its Paris website providing direct access. Indult occupies a secure place in niche perfumery history as the vessel for Kurkdjian's early independent voice.
