J.F. Schwarzlose
Berlin heritage, revived.
J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin was established in 1856 by Joachim Friedrich Schwarzlose as a pharmacist and perfumer in the Prussian capital, making it one of Germany's oldest continuous fragrance names. The house supplied the imperial court and earned a reputation for refined, technically accomplished compositions before falling dormant through much of the twentieth century. In the 2000s the brand was revived and repositioned as a contemporary Berlin niche house, drawing on archival records and the city's cultural identity to develop a new collection. Perfumer Véronique Nyberg has contributed to the modern lineup, which includes Intrigue, Ausflug, and Tradition alongside newer releases. The packaging and brand language reference the original apothecary heritage without being nostalgic pastiche. The revival places J.F. Schwarzlose at the niche price tier and distributes internationally through specialty retailers.
