Koto Parfums
Imaginative children's fragrances from the heart of Lyon.
Koto Parfums is a French house specialising in licensed children's fragrances, with collections built around well-known characters and dolls rather than original brand identities. The first line, launched in 2008, was a Hello Kitty range presented in pink flacons; subsequent collections drew on the Arthur and the Minimoys films and on the Japanese Kimmidoll dolls, which take their cues from nineteenth-century kokeshi figures. Compositions are deliberately mild and approachable — light fruity-florals, soft musks and sugary gourmands — and the house works with established perfumers including Corinne Cachen, Alexandra Monet and Delphine Jelk, with industry partner Drom contributing on several lines. Koto Parfums suits the gift-giving market and parents introducing children to scent as part of a wider cosmetic ritual, rather than collectors of fine perfumery.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
