Kuumba Made
Earth's finest botanicals and fragrances.
Kuumba Made was founded in 1980 by herbalist Denise Piazza, whose nickname Kuumba — a Swahili word for creativity — supplies the label's name. The brand began with hand-blended coconut oil infused with rose petals, calendula, and lavender from her garden, alongside a small set of natural fragrance oils, and grew over the following decades into a botanical body-care house with a wide US following. The perfume side of the catalogue centres on roll-on fragrance oils in jojoba and safflower bases — Persian Garden, Amber & Patchouli, Egyptian Musk, Golden Sky — pitched to a buyer who prefers oil-based naturals over alcoholic eaux de parfum. The aesthetic is firmly in the American holistic-shop tradition: vegan, plant-derived, modestly priced, and sold largely through independent boutiques and apothecaries.
