L acqua di Fiori
L'Acqua di Fiori was founded in 1980 in Belo Horizonte by Leopoldo Tavares and his wife Marlene, who began by selling perfumes door to door before opening their first storefront. Through the late 1980s the brand grew into one of Brazil's largest franchised perfume chains, peaking at more than two thousand stores nationwide. The formulas leaned heavily on tropical florals and gourmand accords with concentrations unusually high for the local market — the house was among the first Brazilian brands to push past eau de toilette strength. That positioning gave it a long shelf-life as a gift fragrance, particularly for Mother's Day and Christmas. Management turbulence after 2010 reduced the network to a fraction of its former size, and the brand has spent the last decade rebuilding around a smaller franchise base and a renewed focus on its heritage fragrances. It remains independently owned.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
