Loewe
Loewe was established in Madrid in 1846 by a collective of Spanish leather craftsmen, becoming one of the oldest luxury houses on the Iberian Peninsula. Enrique Loewe Roessberg, a German immigrant, joined in 1872 and professionalised the atelier; the family retained ownership until the house passed to LVMH in 1996. Fragrance arrived as an extension of the brand's material philosophy — natural textures, Iberian light, and the smell of worked leather translated into wearable form. The current fragrance line, shaped in part by creative director Jonathan Anderson, balances artisanal references with contemporary minimalism. Agua de Loewe and the earlier Esencia established mainstream recognition; the Solo and Aura flankers extended the catalogue broadly. More recently, collaborations with perfumer Quentin Bisch produced Elephant, a grassy-green composition that repositioned the brand toward the niche adjacency it now occupies at retail. Pricing has drifted upward, reflecting the parent group's luxury positioning.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
