Maison Matine
Rebel perfumes, every morning.
Maison Matine launched in 2019, founded by the creative duo Arthur Ponroy and Marie Kelloy with the stated aim of dismantling the gravity and pretension embedded in traditional Parisian perfumery. The house's name references the morning — matine, early, fresh — and its philosophy is built around the idea that fragrance should be joyful, energizing, and accessible rather than reverential. Best-selling releases including Lost in Translation, Esprit de Contradiction, and Into the Wild demonstrate a consistent willingness to pursue unexpected combinations: woody herbal surprises, paradoxical structure, compositions that refuse simple categorization. The house formulates for contemporary niche consumers who came of age in a post-Instagram fragrance culture — visually literate, irony-comfortable, resistant to luxury theater. With seventeen fragrances spanning 2019 through 2025, Maison Matine has maintained its founding energy while building genuine commercial presence in independent retail channels across France, the US, and the UK.
