Majid Muzaffar Iterji
Pure Arabian oud and perfumery since 1595.
Majid Muzaffar Iterji is a Mecca-based oud and attar specialist that traces its perfumery lineage, by family account, to the late sixteenth century — a history of mukhallat-blending and oud-distilling that long predates the modern Gulf perfume industry. The current factory operates under the leadership of Majid Muzaffar Iterji, who runs production out of Mecca and supplies a regional and international clientele. The catalog is organized around traditional Arabian categories: pure agarwood oils sourced from Cambodia, India and Indo-Burmese provenances; mukhallat blends combining oud with rose, ambergris, deer musk and saffron; and a smaller line of spray-format eaux de parfum that translate the same materials into a more contemporary format. The earliest catalogued release dates from the mid-1950s. Distribution stays regional, with shops in Mecca and Jeddah and exports to discerning collectors in the Gulf and East Asia.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
