Marcel Guerlain / Hughes Guerlain
French fragrance heritage from 1922.
Marcel Guerlain is a French fragrance house founded in 1922 by Marcel Guerlain, a member of the Guerlain family who chose to operate independently rather than within the main Guerlain maison. The house is historically significant for establishing a separate creative identity at a time when the Guerlain name was already one of the most celebrated in French perfumery. Marcel Guerlain and the associated Hughes Guerlain line produced fragrances through the mid-twentieth century under the accessible to prestige range, including floral and chypre compositions typical of interwar French perfumery. The house is now largely dormant as an active producer, but its vintage releases appear in collector markets and its bottles carry historical interest. Without a current commercial presence or active website, the brand functions today as an archival name rather than a living fragrance house. It remains an accessible-tier historical label in specialist reference databases.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
