Massimiliano Torti – Il Profumiere
Umbrian artisan perfumery built on layering.
Massimiliano Torti — Il Profumiere is the work of Foligno-born perfumer Massimiliano Torti, who operates a laboratory in the heart of Umbria using raw materials selected by hand. Born in Florence in 1975, Torti developed his craft across three decades, arriving at a practice centred on what he calls "olfactory stratification" — building a personal scent not from a single bottle but from the deliberate layering of multiple compositions. The philosophy challenges the idea of the fixed fragrance. Torti designs each creation as a component in a broader wardrobe: customers are invited to combine, alternate, and reinvent based on mood, season, and occasion. The starting point is always the individual, not the bottle. All products are handmade using premium raw materials; fragrances sold through authorised retailers only, never direct online. The house maintains separate Italian and international product lines, with packaging and formulations adapted to respective cosmetic regulations. This specificity of detail reflects the artisan's discipline of the Umbrian workshop — close attention to material quality without the marketing infrastructure of a designer brand.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
