mesOud
Rare oud, expert hands, London.
mesOud is a British ultra-niche fragrance boutique and house founded in 2009 by Omer Asim in London's Marylebone neighbourhood. The name combines the Arabic mes (touch) with oud — the resinous heartwood of the Aquilaria tree that represents the apex of Middle Eastern and South Asian perfumery traditions. Asim established mesOud as one of London's first specialist oud boutiques, importing aged and rare agarwood oils from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and India for direct sale alongside commissioned fragrances that blend Western niche sensibility with genuine Middle Eastern oud expertise. The house's own fragrance line builds on these exceptional raw materials, producing compositions of significant depth and concentration. mesOud has established itself as a trusted source for oud connoisseurs who understand the enormous variation in quality within the category and seek traceability in their materials. The boutique model — small quantities, deep expertise, premium pricing — aligns with the ultra-niche designation, and the brand's reputation among serious collectors is strong.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
