Miraculum
A century of Polish perfumery.
Miraculum is one of Poland's oldest and most storied cosmetics and perfumery companies, founded in 1924 in Kraków by Dr Leon Luser, a physician whose training in dermatology led him to see beauty care as an extension of medical practice. Luser was a pioneer not only in Polish cosmetology but in brand strategy: he was among the first in Poland to use celebrity endorsements, partnering with Miss Poland 1930 and the singer Hanka Ordonówna to build a loyal consumer following between the wars. The company gained international recognition at the 1931 Paris World Exhibition, where it won the Grand Prix for face powder. After surviving the upheavals of the twentieth century, Miraculum remains a publicly listed company on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, producing fragrances, skincare, and cosmetics across multiple branded lines. Its best-known perfume heritage is the Pani Walewska line, launched in 1971, inspired by Napoleon's Polish confidante Maria Walewska — a piece of history worn on the skin.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
