Monotheme
Single-note perfumery from Venice.
Monotheme is an Italian perfume house born in Venice in 2003 and produced by the Mavive group, the Vidal family company that also oversees The Merchant of Venice. The brand's organising idea is single-note perfumery: each scent is built around a named raw material, framed in clean, library-style packaging that puts the ingredient on the front of the bottle. The catalogue has grown across four collections — the original Classic line, a darker Black Label series, the citrus-led Libro Degli Agrumi and the more sustainably formulated Ecopure range — composed in collaboration with perfumers including Lorenzo Vidal and Pierre-Constantin Guéros, with Symrise on the supply side. Production stays in Italy. Monotheme suits wearers building a scent wardrobe by ingredient rather than by mood, and looking for legible compositions at a distinctly accessible niche price.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
