Myropol
Myropol is the independent perfume project of Andrej Oljenikov, known in niche fragrance circles as "the alchemist." Oljenikov spent six years studying medicine before leaving to focus on essential oil distillation, building his own laboratory and accumulating over three decades of experience with plant materials. Many of his raw ingredients are gathered directly — from forests and from the Crimean peninsula — rather than sourced through commercial channels. His fragrances began appearing around 2010, initially building a small following among collectors interested in naturalistic compositions. On first contact, many Myropol perfumes present as soliflores — Matthiola, Freesia, Phlox — but unfold to reveal complex structural density beneath a deceptively simple surface. Oljenikov ascribes certain restorative qualities to fragrance materials, and his approach carries an almost medicinal precision. Myropol has no formal website and minimal marketing presence. Knowledge of the brand circulates through enthusiast communities rather than retail channels. The work suits wearers drawn to botanical accuracy and the kind of perfumery that values material truth over narrative presentation.
