Orlov Paris
Olfactory gems cut from legendary diamonds.
Orlov Paris was founded in 2015 by Ruth and Thomas Méaulle, a husband-and-wife partnership born from the intersection of high jewellery and high perfumery. Ruth, a graduate of HRD Antwerp's diamond grading programme, brought a gemologist's eye to the house's central conceit: each fragrance named for and inspired by a legendary stone, from the Orlov diamond of the Russian Imperial sceptre to the Daria-i-Noor and Cross of Asia. Thomas, a former banker, provided the commercial architecture for Ruth's vision. The opening Diamond Collection was composed by Dominique Ropion, one of perfumery's most decorated noses, and subsequent releases have drawn on Quentin Bisch, Shyamala Maisondieu, Olivier Pescheux, and Dorothée Piot. Bottles mirror the faceted geometry of cut stones. The house positions itself firmly in the ultra-niche tier, distributed through select luxury retailers including Bergdorf Goodman, with price points that reflect both the quality of materials and the jewellery-world referencing.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
