Pacoma
Affordable French perfumery since 1972.
Pacoma is a French mass-market perfumery founded in 1972 by brothers Hervé and Antoine Madrid, whose shared passion for beauty set in motion what would eventually become the Panther Groupe — a family-run Bordeaux-based conglomerate with fragrance and cosmetics brands distributed in over forty countries. Pacoma Parfumeur Créateur was the original vehicle through which the brothers established their presence in accessible French perfumery, producing a range of affordable fragrances and colognes under the creator-perfumer model. Over the decades, much of the Pacoma portfolio migrated into sibling brands including Carole Daver and Christine Darvin, with the Cassilia fragrance surviving as the most enduring legacy piece. Today Panther Groupe operates multiple distinct brands — Cottage in bath and shower, Arnaud Paris in face and body cosmetics, La Closerie des Parfums in niche — while Pacoma represents the group's historical roots: pragmatic, democratic French fragrance accessible at everyday prices. A modest but genuine piece of postwar French perfumery history.
