Papillon Artisan Perfumes
British artisan fragrance craft.
Papillon Artisan Perfumes was founded in 2011 by Liz Moores in the United Kingdom, after Moores pursued formal perfumery training to transform a lifelong obsession with scent into a professional practice. The house blends every fragrance by hand in Moores' own studio — a commitment that makes her process genuinely artisanal rather than merely branded as such. Notable releases include Tobacco Rose, an ambitious and critically praised composition that balances sticky dark rose with tobacco, vintage musks, and animalic depth; and Angelique, a green floral of considerable structure. Moores draws inspiration from vintage perfumery — animalic musks, chypric foundations, rich florals given weight by real naturals — translated through contemporary sourcing awareness and personal creative conviction rather than archival recreation. Papillon has earned consistent recognition from fragrance critics and enthusiasts as one of the UK's most serious artisan operations. Niche pricing reflects both the quality of raw materials — Moores is known for her investment in naturals including vintage absolutes — and the genuine handmade character of each bottle.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
