Pell Wall Perfumes
Hand-crafted British perfumery with an open hand.
Pell Wall Perfumes was founded in 2010 by Chris Bartlett in Shropshire, England, with a philosophy centred on accessibility and honest craft. Bartlett identified a gap in the market for premium fragrance ingredients available in quantities practical for independent perfumers and hobbyists — materials that commercial suppliers would only sell in large wholesale quantities — and built the supply side of the business around filling that need. The house's fragrance output applied the same directness: perfumes made to be loved by some people rather than liked by everyone. Bartlett collaborated with Zoologist Perfumes, contributing to the Elephant composition, and maintained a bespoke service alongside the core catalog. Over 14,000 customers worldwide engaged with the ingredient retail arm, making Pell Wall as significant as a supplier to the indie perfumery community as it was as a house in its own right. Chris Bartlett passed away in July 2024. His team continues to operate the business in his memory, maintaining the ingredient supply service and the fragrance catalog. Pell Wall suits wearers who value transparency and craft over projection, and perfumers at any level who need quality materials without the commercial minimums.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
