Perfumería Gal
The classical Spanish perfume house.
Perfumería Gal is one of Spain's oldest and most historically significant fragrance houses, founded in 1898 by Salvador Echeandía Gal in Madrid. The house launched the celebrated Heno de Pravia soap and cologne line in 1905, which became a defining scent of twentieth-century Spanish domestic life — a gentle, hay-and-herbs accord that remained a household staple for generations. Gal helped establish a distinctly Spanish fragrance idiom rooted in clean, unpretentious Mediterranean sensibility rather than Parisian opulence. The brand was acquired by Puig, the Barcelona-based beauty and fashion group, which preserved its legacy within a larger portfolio. Perfumería Gal represents the accessible heritage end of Spanish perfumery, valued more for cultural resonance and nostalgia than for niche collectibility.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
