Pineward Perfumes
Conifer perfumery from the Colorado Rockies.
Pineward is a one-man Colorado house built around conifers. Founder Nicholas Nilsson started the project in November 2020, after college plans collapsed into a pandemic job market, and turned a childhood spent camping in the Rockies into a fragrance practice. He gathers ponderosa pine needles and resin himself, distills the absolute in-house, and uses it as a signature material across the line. The compositions lean dense and resinous: balsam fir, juniper, smoked cedar, dry pine bark, sometimes a thread of leather or smoke. Boreal, Ponderosa, Juniperus, and Fanghorn read less like perfumes than transcripts of specific landscapes. Output is small-batch and sells through the brand's own site and a handful of indie retailers. The house attracts wearers who want forest the way a forest actually smells in October, not the green abstraction most mainstream pine fragrances settle for.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
