Possets
Oil-based indie perfumery from the American Midwest.
Possets was founded in 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio, by Fabienne Christenson, who had announced her intention to become a perfumer at age six and spent decades in manufacturing management and fine arts before realising the ambition. The first twelve Possets compositions appeared online that year; Silver Violets, the inaugural release, remains a customer favourite. The house produces oil-based perfumes — not alcohol spray but pure blends worn with the directness of skin contact. Christenson's approach was shaped by her business background: quality ingredients without the retail markup, delivered at prices that made fine perfume genuinely accessible rather than aspirationally so. The catalog grew to several hundred compositions across seasonal and thematic collections. Fabienne Christenson passed away in October 2016. Her husband Gordon has maintained the brand and the community she built around it. Possets suits wearers drawn to indie American perfumery's directness — people who want complexity and care in a fragrance without paying prestige prices, and who are comfortable buying from a small operation rather than a retail chain.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
