Roccobarocco
Roccobarocco is the fashion brand of Rocco Muscariello, a Naples-born designer who legally took the name Rocco Barocco after launching his first collections in the 1960s. The label opened a Rome studio in 1974 and added prêt-à-porter in 1979, building a reputation for graphic black-and-white prints, optical patterns and sharp evening tailoring. The perfume line debuted with the eponymous Roccobarocco in 1987, an oriental floral that became the brand's longest-running release. Subsequent launches like Tre, Jeans and the Roccobarocco Black series stayed within an accessible, gift-orientated register, distributed through European perfumeries and duty-free. Fragrance is produced under licence by Italian and French manufacturers, with the house contributing direction rather than in-house formulation. Roccobarocco sits in the affordable Italian designer band, alongside Trussardi and Gai Mattiolo, with a customer base concentrated in Italy and Eastern Europe.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
