Rosendo Mateu is a Spanish niche house launched in 2015 by the Barcelona-based perfumer of the same name, who spent decades working as a contracted nose for major commercial houses before founding his own label. Mateu's long career in industrial perfumery informs his fluency across many fragrance families; the house catalog ranges from austere wood accords to lush orientals to transparent florals, unified by an unusually high level of technical refinement. His son Joan Mateu has joined the project as a collaborating perfumer, giving the house a family dimension. The numbered No. series releases are designed to be worn across all genders and to showcase specific material combinations at their most expressive. Rosendo Mateu distributes internationally through specialty retailers and is priced at the upper end of the niche tier, reflecting the quality of materials and the perfumer's credentials.
