Roxana Illuminated Perfumes
Botanical perfumery made from pure plant materials.
Roxana Illuminated Perfumes is a California-based natural fragrance house founded in 2007 by Roxana Villa, who approaches perfumery as a botanical art practice rooted in the Western herbalism tradition. Villa works exclusively with plant-derived materials—essential oils, absolutes, CO2 extracts, and resins—rejecting synthetic aromachemicals in favor of materials that carry the biological complexity of their source plants. Each release is handcrafted in small quantities and often packaged with an emphasis on visual and sensory beauty that treats the bottle as an art object. The house is active in the natural perfumery community and Villa has contributed to education in that field. Notable releases include Alba, Flora Carnivora, and Tango, which demonstrate her range from delicate to intensely resinous compositions. Roxana Illuminated Perfumes occupies the niche tier and is sold primarily through the house's own website and a small number of curated natural beauty retailers.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
