Santi Burgas
Catalan author perfumery inspired by ants and the Mediterranean.
Santi Burgas is an author-perfumery house founded in 2008 in Torroella de Montgrí, Catalonia, by designer-turned-perfumer Santiago Burgas, who came to fragrance from a fashion-design career. The brand's organising idea is unusually specific: the social behaviour of ants, observed and translated into fragrance compositions across collections like Primal Waters and Palindrome. The perfumes are developed in collaboration with several established noses — Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Rosendo Mateu, Blanca Dalmau, and Chris Maurice among them — and lean on Mediterranean materials with a stated preference for sustainable and short-supply-chain sourcing. The editing is conceptual but wearable, sitting closer to L'Artisan or Diptyque than to extreme art-perfumery. Distribution is small and largely European, through specialist niche perfumeries. Santi Burgas suits wearers drawn to a clear authorial concept and Mediterranean rather than oriental or Anglo-American codes.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
