Scent Bar
Niche fragrance retail and house label from Los Angeles.
Scent Bar is the brick-and-mortar retail concept and house label of Luckyscent, the Los Angeles-based niche fragrance pioneer founded in 2002 by Franco Wright and Adam Eastwood. When European brands resisted distributing to online-only outfits, Wright and Eastwood opened their first physical Scent Bar in Hollywood in 2006 — a no-pressure, expertly curated shop where anyone from curious newcomers to veteran fragrance collectors could explore the world of independent perfumery at their own pace. Subsequent locations followed in Los Angeles's DTLA district and in New York. Luckyscent carries over four hundred brands and two thousand two hundred fragrances, while each Scent Bar focuses on a curated third of that inventory with a community of knowledgeable staff who guide rather than sell. The Scent Bar label itself represents fragrances created under the Luckyscent house identity, a natural extension of a retail project that has done more than almost any other American retailer to build the niche fragrance audience from the ground up.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
