
Selection Excellence
Sélection Excellence is the in-house fragrance line of the German discount retailer Lidl, sold under numbered references — No. 1, No. 3, No. 48, No. 100 and so on — across European stores. Releases began appearing in the mid-2010s and the catalogue has grown to several dozen unisex compositions ranging across citrus, floral, oriental, and gourmand families. The line follows the familiar discount-retailer pattern: inexpensive eaux de parfum that approximate the structures of more expensive designer scents at a fraction of the price. The numbering allows the assortment to rotate without committing to named identities, and the bottles are kept visually neutral. There is no perfumer attribution in marketing; production sits with contract houses serving the European private-label market.
