Siam 1928
Thai fragrance legacy, four generations in the making.
Siam 1928 is rooted in a fragrance tradition begun in 1928 by Boontarm Bariraknitikaset, who had served in the royal palace before leaving to marry and establish her own enterprise. Boontarm created and distributed a traditional Thai ritual fragrance — Náam Òp Prùng Jâo Khun — initially sold through Buddhist shops throughout Thailand, where it was used in ceremonial offerings with the belief that a pleasing aroma carries prayers and good wishes upward. The formula and craft were passed through four successive generations, each preserving the original recipe. In 2018, fourth-generation heir Nutt Wesshasartar relaunched the heritage under the modern Siam 1928 brand, drawing on Thai folk tales and the sensory materials of the country's landscape to create contemporary eau de parfums for the international niche market. The house is distinguished by its genuine multi-generational continuity and its deep grounding in Thai Buddhist ritual culture — a provenance that few perfume houses anywhere in the world can claim.
