Simone Andreoli

Simone Andreoli founded his eponymous house in Modena in 2014 with business partner Alberto Gaiti, after training in Grasse and a childhood spent visiting perfumer workshops in Provence. The house calls its catalogue an olfactory diary: each release is built around a specific travel memory, and Andreoli writes short narrative entries to accompany every fragrance. Compositions skew tropical and joyful, coconut, frangipani, salt skin, sun-warmed wood, mango, vetiver, frequently with a gourmand or aquatic angle, and lean against the dominant Italian-niche habit of dark oud and incense. Sunsplosion, Leisure in Paradise, and Aloha State of Mind are typical of the line. Production is entirely Italian, and bottles use heavy lacquered cylinders in saturated colours. The house has become one of the more distinctive voices in contemporary Italian niche, suited to wearers who want serious craftsmanship without the seriousness of incense and chypre traditions.
