Sonoma Scent Studio
Hand-crafted artisan perfumes from Sonoma County.
Sonoma Scent Studio is an artisan perfume house founded in 2004 by Laurie Erickson in Sonoma County, California. Erickson trained at the Institute for Art and Olfaction in Los Angeles after a background in environmental earth science at Stanford, and the line carries the imprint of both. Compositions lean into rich naturals, woods, ambers, and weathered florals that recall Northern California's coastal scrub and oak. The house is small-batch by design, with Erickson formulating, blending, and shipping from her own studio. Releases such as Champagne de Bois, Tabac Aurea, and Forest Walk built a devoted following among those tracking American indie perfumery in the 2000s and 2010s. Sonoma Scent Studio is often cited as an example of the artisan model done with restraint: literary in its source material, generous with high-cost raw materials, and unhurried in its release schedule.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
