Subhi Khalilbayov
The first official perfume brand of Azerbaijan.
Subhi Khalilbayov founded his eponymous perfume brand in Baku in 2014, becoming Azerbaijan's first officially registered domestic fragrance house. Working as both founder and sole perfumer, Khalilbayov draws on the Caucasus region's rich floral and botanical heritage while absorbing the wider influence of Middle Eastern and European niche traditions — a synthesis reflected in fragrances that tend towards warm, concentrated orientals with locally resonant raw materials. The catalogue spans roughly a decade of output, from the amber-toned debut 1990 Nostalgia through to more recent releases including Azerbaijan Leather, which explicitly plants the house's identity in its home territory. Khalilbayov maintains an active social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, which serves as the primary channel for reaching both domestic and diaspora audiences. As the pioneer of Azerbaijani branded perfumery, the house carries a significance beyond its catalogue size: it represents the emergence of a national fragrance identity in a country whose culture has long prized scent but lacked homegrown commercial perfumers. That founding claim — and the consistency of its creator's voice — gives the brand a cultural weight that exceeds its modest production scale.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
