Ted Baker
British wit bottled for everyday life.
Ted Baker is a British clothing label founded in Glasgow in 1988 by Ray Kelvin, originally as a men's shirt specialist before broadening into full collections, accessories, and licensed beauty products. The fragrance arm began in 1998 with the men's scent Skinwear, developed in partnership with KMI Brands; a women's counterpart, Woman, followed in 1999. The perfume catalogue has stayed in accessible designer territory across two decades — fougère and aromatic structures for men, fruity-florals and gourmands for women — composed by working perfumers including Sophie Labbé, Alain Astori, Julie Pluchet, and Jean-Charles Niel. Pricing and distribution skew toward British high-street pharmacies and gift sets. The parent business fell into administration in March 2024 and the brand was relaunched online later that year under new ownership. It suits wearers looking for affordable British designer fragrance with a recognisable retail footprint.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
