Terracuore / テラクオーレ
Terracuore was an organic beauty and fragrance brand created by Idea International — the Japanese company also known for the BRUNO lifestyle brand — with its first store opening at Hanshin Umeda Department Store in August 2009. The concept rested on a collaboration between an Italian organic cosmetics workshop in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy, where biodynamic farming methods were used to cultivate aromatic plants drawing on traditional botanical knowledge, and a Japanese development team expert in Japanese skin preferences and formulation aesthetics. The name Terracuore — Italian for heart of the earth — reflected the brand's dual identity: Italian terroir and organic craft filtered through Japanese precision. Fragrances and skincare were composed from Piedmont-cultivated plant materials aligned with the slow food philosophy of the region. The brand operated through department store concessions in Japan and developed a following among consumers seeking genuinely organic beauty products. Terracuore closed its retail operations in early 2020, ending a decade-long run as one of Japan's most distinctive organic fragrance propositions.
