The Fragrance Design Studio
The Fragrance Design Studio is the personal niche line of the perfumer Cécile Hua, a Marseille-born nose who graduated first in her class from the Givaudan Perfumery School in Grasse and was the first recipient of the Fashion Group International Rising Star Award for fragrance design in 2003. The brand was previously released under the name Le Cherche Midi before Hua rebranded it. The catalogue is numbered rather than named — No. 01, No. 19, No. 20, No. 79 — and each entry reads as a study or sketch from her studio, with a calmer voice than the celebrity scents she also develops for Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and others. Compositions span unisex woods, soft florals and aromatic structures with a chemist's restraint and no marketing narrative. It suits wearers who want perfumer-led work without hyperbolic packaging.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
