Thoo / The House Of Oud
The House of Oud — abbreviated THoO — was founded in 2016 out of a friendship between the Italian perfumer Andrea Casotti and a Jakarta-based oud connoisseur, Mohammed Abu Nashi. Casotti, who had been studying engineering before turning to fragrance, set the house up as a bridge between European composition technique and the Indonesian oud trade. The perfumes — Desert Day, Klem Garden, the THoO Element collection — work mostly in oud, oriental floral, and gourmand registers, with hand-coated oval flacons that vary slightly between bottles. Casotti composes alongside Cristian Calabrò and Maurizio Cerizza, and the house operates from northern Italy with niche-channel distribution across Europe, North America, and the Gulf. It is one of a handful of contemporary Italian houses building identities specifically around agarwood.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
