Tijon
Custom French Caribbean perfumery, bottle by bottle.
Tijon was founded in 2007 by John Berglund on the French Caribbean island of Saint Martin, establishing one of the region's few dedicated artisan perfume ateliers focused on bespoke and custom creation. The house draws on French perfumery technique trained through Grasse traditions, filtered through the sensory landscape of the Caribbean: tropical botanicals, salt air, warm skin, the vivid brightness of island light. Berglund offers custom fragrance creation as a core service — visitors to the Saint Martin atelier participate in the composition of their own personal scent — while also producing a house collection that captures the island's olfactory character in a more portable form. Tijon occupies a unique position at the intersection of experiential tourism and genuine artisan perfumery, offering fragrance education and creation as immersive activities. The custom and bespoke model keeps production intimate and each bottle genuinely individual, reflecting the founder's commitment to fragrance as personal expression.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
