To Summer
Chinese seasons translated into scent.
To Summer was founded in 2018 by Shen Li and Huipu Liu as a Beijing-based fragrance house committed to capturing Chinese seasonal experience through sophisticated perfumery. The name references a traditional Chinese epistolary phrase meaning 'to write to summer,' framing each fragrance as a letter to a fleeting moment of beauty. Collections explore the sensory textures of specific Chinese landscapes — summer courtyard gardens, misty autumn mountains, the cool mineral clarity of spring — rendered through layered material composition rather than obvious floral shorthand. Fragrances such as Midsummer Rice Wine and Late Autumn Wood have attracted international fragrance community attention for their specificity and restraint. To Summer has become one of the most internationally recognized contemporary Chinese niche houses, stocked at boutiques across Asia, Europe, and North America, positioning itself alongside established French independents through rigorous aesthetic standards and thoughtful packaging.
