Tonatto Profumi
Slow perfumery from Turin.
Tonatto Profumi is a Turin perfume house founded around 2000 by Laura Bosetti Tonatto, a professional perfumer who had been composing for major cosmetic companies and bespoke private clients since 1986. The house is now led by her daughter Diletta Tonatto, with Margherita Mallarino contributing as a second in-house nose. The brand's stated philosophy is slow perfumery: long maceration times, careful sourcing of naturals, and small-batch production handled within the Turin laboratory rather than outsourced. Compositions cover florals, leathers, smoky orientals, and unusual gourmand registers — saffron, fig, beeswax, tea — and have been commissioned by hotels, museums, and private individuals across Europe. Tonatto sits in the quieter, more artisanal end of Italian niche, alongside houses such as Bois 1920 and Linari, and is best read as an extension of Laura Bosetti Tonatto's broader career as a working nose rather than a marketing-led launch.
